Mile Phakphum & Apo Nattawin Reunite in “Shine” A Daring Love Story Set in 1969 Thailand

The wait is finally over. Thai heartthrobs Mile Phakphum and Apo Nattawin are back together. After capturing global audiences with their breakout chemistry in KinnPorsche: The Series, the duo reunites in Shine, an emotionally charged period drama set against the political tensions of 1969 Thailand.
Premiering on WeTV this August 2, Shine unfolds across eight riveting episodes that promise not only intense performances but also sweeping visuals, stylish retro aesthetics, and a bold narrative on identity, love, and resistance.

Directed, written, and executive produced by the visionary Pond Krisda, Shine explores the delicate intersections between personal freedom and societal expectations. Apo Nattawin portrays Trin, a principled economist, who encounters Thanwa, a free spirited soul brought to life by Mile Phakphum. Their worlds collide through Us (played by Thai screen legend Nok Sinjai), a wealthy widow whose life once lived on her own terms spirals into a whirlwind of political and emotional drama.
Adding depth to the star studded cast are Son Yuke, Euro Yotsawat, Oab Oabnithi, Kob Pimolrat, Punpun Sutatta, Peter Deriy, and JJay Pat, among others. The soundtrack is equally anticipated, featuring Thailand’s legendary rock band Slot Machine, with more high-profile musical collaborators yet to be revealed.

Beyond the plot, Shine promises a feast of vintage fashion moments and poetic cinematography that echoes the spirit of protest, love, and self discovery. With only eight episodes, it’s set to become one of the most talked about series in Asian entertainment this year.
Get ready to be moved, challenged, and captivated. The Shine era begins.
