Gentle Monster’s HAUS NOWHERE Unveils “More Is More” with Max Siedentopf

Gentle Monster continues to blur the line between retail and radical art. Its experimental platform HAUS NOWHERE has unveiled its debut large-scale commission, “More Is More,” in collaboration with Namibian German artist and director Max Siedentopf.

Known for surrealist, hyperreal installations, Siedentopf translates HAUS NOWHERE’s philosophy of “a space unlike any other” into a living, breathing sculpture that challenges the way audiences experience brand environments.

Now on view across Seoul (Dosan), Shanghai, and Shenzhen, the multi-site installation manifests as a shifting mountain of black trash bags, moving in hypnotic rhythm. Anchored within the spectacle stands a life-like elderly man, clutching a single golden bag, his animatronic eyes scanning the scene as if caught between curiosity and futility. Other figures appear submerged within the heap an unsettling yet cinematic study of excess, value, and human fragility.

Unveiled alongside Gentle Monster’s “The Future Returned” concept in Seoul, “More Is More” signals the beginning of HAUS NOWHERE’s new era one defined by global artist collaborations that merge art, fashion, and cultural commentary into immersive worlds.

For Gentle Monster, this isn’t just retail. It’s a stage where the bizarre, the beautiful, and the uncanny collide turning the act of shopping into an experience of radical storytelling.
