The Art of the Free Stride: Camper × ISSEY MIYAKE Debut ‘Karst Finch’
The intersection of avant-garde structure and Mediterranean soul deepens this season as Camper and ISSEY MIYAKEunveil their latest creative dialogue: the Karst Finch. Serving as the second installment of their ongoing partnership, this release marks the collaboration’s first foray into the sneaker silhouette, a natural evolution for two houses obsessed with the mechanics of movement.
First teased during the Spring/Summer 2026 runway presentations, the Karst Finch is a masterclass in functional poetry, designed by ISSEY MIYAKE’s Satoshi Kondo in tandem with the Mallorca-based footwear legends.

Beyond the ‘Second Skin’
While their debut project, the Peu Form, focused on the intimate sensation of a “second skin,” the Karst Finch shifts the narrative toward the liberation of the gait. It is a direct translation of “walking freely,” moving the collaboration from conceptual wrapping to active exploration.
The aesthetic DNA of the sneaker is a study in organic contrasts:
- The Inspiration: The vibrant, rhythmic plumage of the finch bird.
- The Foundation: Camper’s signature “Karst” outsole, a rugged design modeled after tectonic, rocky landscapes.

Engineering Weightlessness
In true ISSEY MIYAKE fashion, the sneaker leverages technical innovation to achieve a minimalist silhouette. The upper features a stretch-knit construction with a structure reminiscent of a Mary Jane, ensuring the shoe moves in total harmony with the foot.
Performance isn’t sacrificed for form; the Karst Finch is powered by:
- ReXarge® Supercritical Foam: A proprietary midsole providing elite cushioning.
- Vibram® Outsole: Delivering industrial-grade grip for the urban explorer.
The DFW Edit: Styling the Drop
True to the spirit of versatility, each pair arrives with two sets of socks in tonal or contrasting palettes, encouraging a modular approach to styling. The colorways remain sophisticated and earthy: Ink Black, Sun-Drenched Yellow, Soft Beige, and Flint Gray.
