Heidi Klum’s Six-Month Transformation Into Medusa for Halloween 2025

It wouldn’t be Halloween without Heidi Klum. The supermodel turned Halloween queen made her grand entrance at the 24th annual Heidiween party in New York City, revealing this year’s jaw-dropping transformation: Medusa, the mythical Greek monster reborn in high fashion.

“I look forward to Halloween all year,” Klum shared ahead of her big reveal. “It’s my favorite time to be creative, have fun, and surprise everyone. I’ve been doing this for 24 years and I hope I never stop.”

A Modern Myth Brought to Life

Known for pushing the limits of costume design, Klum has previously turned herself into everything from Jessica Rabbit to an uncanny earthworm. But this year, she looked to mythology for inspiration. “I wanted to reimagine one of history’s most iconic monsters through a modern lens,” she explained. “Medusa is mysterious, powerful, and terrifyingly beautiful, her story has always fascinated me.”

The Artistry Behind the Transformation

The look took six months of preparation and over nine hours of makeup, featuring mechanical snakes that slithered independently across her head and a custom split snake tongue for an eerily lifelike effect. “The snakes all move on their own, it’s so wild,” Klum said. “Every year, I try to challenge myself, and this one definitely raised the bar.”

Her longtime collaborator, special effects artist Mike Marino, once again helped bring her vision to life. The two began planning back in April, working alongside a 15-person team of prosthetic artists, sculptors, and engineers. “Mike and his team are geniuses,” Klum said. “They’ve won awards for a reason, but more than that, they share my love for the bizarre. We’re like kids playing dress-up, just with better tools.”

The Queen of Halloween Never Misses a Beat

Despite the intricate costume, Klum made sure she could still move freely, essential, given that Questlove was DJing her star studded bash at the Hard Rock Hotel. “I made sure I can dance in it,” she laughed. “I’m ready to shake this rattlesnake tail!”

For Klum, Halloween is more than just spectacle, it’s tradition. “Every year, my friends blow me away with their creativity,” she said. “That’s what makes this night so special. I started this party to bring people joy, and 24 years later, it still does.”

This year’s Medusa transformation cements what fashion and Halloween fans already know: No one does Halloween like Heidi Klum.
