Chanel Returns to NYC This December And It’s Matthieu Blazy’s First Métiers d’art Collection

A new era of Chanel couture begins in the city that never sleeps.

For the first time in seven years, Chanel is heading back to New York City to present its 2025/2026 Métiers d’art collection on December 2. But this isn’t just a comeback it’s a creative milestone. The show will mark Matthieu Blazy’s highly anticipated Métiers d’art debut since stepping in as Chanel’s artistic director in December 2024.

First launched in 2002, the Métiers d’art collection is more than a pre-season drop—it’s a tribute to the artisans and specialist ateliers behind Chanel’s legendary craftsmanship. This year, under Blazy’s direction, the house is set to reimagine its heritage codes while anchoring them in the vibrant energy of a city Coco Chanel first visited nearly a century ago.

To build anticipation, Chanel dropped a teaser visual featuring a stylized NYC subway map layered with its signature double C insignia hinting at a journey both literal and symbolic.

The last time the House brought its Métiers d’art spectacle to Manhattan was in 2018, when Karl Lagerfeld staged the “Paris-New York” show at the Met Museum. Now, as the torch passes to Blazy, all eyes are on what will surely be a historic unveiling a collision of French haute savoir-faire and New York grit.

“I am delighted that Matthieu Blazy has chosen New York for his first Métiers d’art show,” shared Bruno Pavlovsky, President of Chanel Fashion. “He will make the creative energy of the city he knows so well resonate with the exceptional savoir-faire of the House.”

Before Blazy’s full ready-to-wear debut next spring at Paris Fashion Week, this Métiers d’art collection will serve as a powerful prelude one that blends old world artistry with future facing vision.
