Takashi Murakami’s Ohana Hatake Blooms in London

Where Japanese pop art meets playful footwear fantasy.
London just got a little brighter. From now until 24 August 2025, Selfridges’ The Corner Shop is transforming into a technicolour garden of joy, courtesy of Takashi Murakami’s Ohana Hatake the artist’s first-ever fashion label and “the world’s first artist-led footwear brand.”
The collection stars Murakami’s signature smiling flowers beloved from gallery walls to Louis Vuitton collaborations now reimagined on oversized, EVA foam sliders. Debuting in November 2024 at ComplexCon Las Vegas, the line’s name, Ohana Hatake (“field of flowers”), perfectly captures its vibrant spirit.

Step inside The Corner Shop and you’ll enter the full Murakami universe: kaleidoscopic displays, bold florals, and selfie perfect corners begging to go viral. This London pop up follows an equally immersive Hong Kong ComplexCon takeover think faux sakura blossoms, grass sprouting underfoot, and an avalanche of petals frozen in perpetual bloom.
And it’s not just one style. Alongside the “Ohana Full-Bloom” sliders, Murakami unveils a minimalist slip-on inspired by the Japanese house slipper, embossed with his iconic flower motif understated yet unmistakably Murakami.
