ERL Elevates the Flip-Flop Game With Sky High Platforms and a Bold California Attitude

California based label ERL is flipping the script on summer footwear. Under the creative vision of founder Eli Russell Linnetz, the brand introduces a new take on the humble sandal with a collection that redefines proportions and confidence.

After years of quietly designing flip-flops for editorials and lookbooks, ERL is officially entering the footwear arena with a bang. “Flip-flops have always been part of our DNA,” says Linnetz. “It didn’t even occur to me to sell them until now but it finally feels right.”

True to ERL’s bold, tongue in cheek ethos, the collection features three standout styles: Low, Big, and the gravity defying Huge, which boasts an audacious 8 inch platform. Each design pushes the limits of silhouette and scale, blending comfort, function, and performance ready foam with irreverent visual impact. Designed in Venice Beach, the sandals feature molded EVA rubber, suede details, and ERL’s signature silicone monogram.

With an 8 inch sole, the “Huge” design isn’t just a shoe it’s a statement. “Everyone’s talking about flip-flops trending. So I thought, let’s take it further. Literally,” Linnetz jokes. “I love distorting reality through fashion, and these are part of that ongoing play with scale and perception.”

What started with ERL’s cult favorite Vamp shoe has become a growing movement in footwear. And with new sneaker and cowboy boot silhouettes on the horizon, it’s clear ERL isn’t slowing down.

Available now on erl.store, the flip-flops come in Pirate Black and Sand. Prices range from $185 for the Low to $1,250 for the made to order Huge.
